After waiting with anticipation for two months and shaking with excitement at every thought of it… the day finally came. On June 2nd, I was going to see my all time favourite artist. Laufey!
(why did autocorrect change it to Lauren)
We reached before 5pm, 3 hours early for the show. The standing queue was.. wow, 10 km long? Anyway, I had a burrito and scrolled on Pinterest, wearing my yellow diy crown I made specially for this day. However, I was so nervous, I didn’t really have an appetite. There were many men, surprisingly, but I wasn’t surprised they looked gay. I say shirts like “Laufey is my favourite rapper” and so many amazing costumes, which most of are pastel blue.
Finally, everyone stood up when the clock strikes 6, and made our way to the entrance and did our checks. After the workers snapped on my ticket bracelet, I was trembling with joy as we made our long way downstairs and into the stadium. It was hot and it smelled sweaty. Just kidding, it was the opposite! The stadium was air conditioned, was gorgeous, and was pretty interactive(it gave us some fun “Do you know laufey well?” quizzes), and it smelled like apples!
I waited for an hour, util suddenly, everyone stood up and started screaming in joy. The music played, the lights dimmed red, and out came Laufey in the middle of the stage. She began on her first song— Clockwork, then lover girl, dreamer and it goes on. I was screaming but I couldn’t hear myself. I was twitching and I was aware, because WOW!!!!! IM SEEING LAUFEY OMGOMGKGOGKGOGOGOGOGJNEWNIRGNPWIENFI;NWI[NRWEPIWGGU4;RGPI3RI2HG4URHJGIU342HRUIRHP4UG4BRUFB2BFRJ!!!!????
The transition between songs are great, the excitement I get when she starts a new song is overwhelming yet amazing, the setting is so good, her jokes are funny and her vocals were chef’s kiss. Laufey is so amazing I’m so happy to have actually met her and saw her on stage! Also my phone ran out of battery. It dropped from 95% to 1%.
Finally, the concert ended with a “Good Night” after about an hour and a half, and everyone was filling out the stadium with smiles and tears. My friend and cousin were calling me at the same time and my phone was about to die, but I managed to meet my cousin and we took a picture. After she left, I strolled down the street with my dad to the lrt station and returned home, and during the entire trip, I felt warm in my heart, and couldn’t stop smiling. The day truly made me happy, and I’ve felt happier than happy.
Thank you, dad, for giving me this opportunity. and laufey ur amazing <3333333
