So this is a new story I’m currently working on, for real this time. You’ll most likely see snippets from this story I’m writing, titled “Tenebrous”. It might change soon.
I knock on the giant door entrance which appears as if it opens like how a castle would.
After a tense moment of waiting while tapping my feet, wiping dried tears and squeezing my burning arms, I come forward to pull open the handle. When it doesn’t budge, I push it instead.. and it opens quite easily. I almost slap my forehead.
Elegant music fills the air once the heavy doors swings open, revealing a floor checkered with stark, repetitive patterns of black and white. Three similar, ornate chandeliers hung on the ceiling. Beyond their vivid glow, walls climbed endlessly towards the sky, which makes the building taller than it appears from outside. It’s a breathless, terrifying sight that holds me in awe.
I shake my head. There’s no time, and I need to find help immediately.
My Mary Janes click against the surface, a rhythmic countdown to death as I quicken my pace. The more I venture further, the more this place mimics a school, complete with lockers and classrooms placed in alternate sections. Yet it’s entirely drained of life; the crepuscular hallways are lacking its colour, leaving a monochromatic effect that drowns me in fear.
“Um..”
I bite back a scream when I hear a voice behind me. Every instinct I have is screaming for me to run, but the blood from my arms is draining every last bit of my strength. I slow my pace and eventually face the voice, holding my breath.
